A 42-word prompt

Hello everyone!

First off, a big thank you to all the people that read the prompt and who left a like; I’m sure you know how wonderful it feels to see that somebody read your post. Once again, thank you.

A huge shout-out goes to thehouseapart who actually answered the prompt in the comments with his own 42-word text. Well done!

Here is their submission:

But, no. Once again, it was all wrong. The work he had already done did not lead to what he wanted to do. It truly seemed that the only thing he could do was to go back, and start at the beginning.

The author of this short comment followed on my text from last week and placed the subject of the small story in front of another failure. The writing was direct and to the point, while still letting transpire a feeling of frustrated resignation.

Thank you very much thehouseapart for your contribution!

A note: in last week’s post I failed to clarify that only the prompt is required to be 42 words long (a challenge I set to myself). If you want to use the same limitation, or prefer to write something longer (or shorter) I will still accept it and be thrilled to feature it on my blog.

Thank you all for tuning in and I wish you a great start to the week!
