A 42 word prompt

Hello everyone!
As you all undoubtedly know, life is often busy. Today I’m working on a lot of different things and unfortunately, I don’t have the time to write or record something.
But!
I think it is vitally important to remain active and to write every day. This is the way we perfect our craft as writers, world-builders and dreamers.
So, I came up with an idea inspired by ABK’s Prompts and Douglas Adams’ Answer to Everything: the 42-word prompt!
How this works: I will post a text of exactly 42 words. In the comments, post a follow-up text or a link to a blog post based on the 42-word prompt. In the next few days, I will read what you have posted and choose one or two answers (or three if they are short), and write a blog featuring them and a small comment/review/critique.
Let me know if you like this idea; if it becomes popular, I may do more.
Have a lovely weekend!

The Prompt:
For the four hundredth and fifty-second time, he began to write. A bead of sweat floated away, carried by the current of deep-water that twisted around him. For now, the scratchings on the paper held. Maybe this time, his formula would work.
But, no. Once again, it was all wrong. The work he had already done did not lead to what he wanted to do. It truly seemed that the only thing he could do was to go back, and start at the beginning.
